My 7 year old son is not an enthusiastic reader; however, when he started to read this book, he could not put it down. The characters are so well written they draw you in the first time you meet them. Poet Alastair Reid introduces children and adults to the wondrous waywardness of words in Ounce Dice Trice, a delicious confection and a wildly unexpected exploration of sound and sense and nonsense that is like nothing else. The writing is clear and concise and draws you into the character-driven plot. For instance, when it retells a myth, it doesn't say which elements of the myth came from which sources—even in the classic example, the Osiris myth, where it's fairly easy to point out the large chunk of material that comes from Plutarch's retelling of the story rather than from the disparate Egyptian sources. 5 year old loves this book, and he isn't really interested in most books. Considers electronic media in European as well as American art. GREAT ADVICE AND LIFE EXPERI ENCE IS SHARED IN THIS BOOK. As is the case with most bodyweight exercise books, many of these are far too difficult for someone who is out of shape.
